We humans are accustomed to see the material world. Consequently, they become unfamiliar to the spiritual world. I heard someone saying “we must put a Christmas tree in our house so that we can have the spirit of Christmas.” I’ve also observed many people feeling unhappy because they don’t have money to buy gifts and buy food for the Nochebuena or the night of Christmas Eve. Are Christmas decorations, wrapped gifts, palatable foods, tasty wines, new dresses and money the true meaning of Christmas? Wise men will say of course not. What most people don’t know is that the true meaning of Christmas is not seen by our eyes but is seen by our hearts.
CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT GOD’S FORGIVENESS AND SALVATION. The name Jesus Christ means “Savior-King.” It represents God's universal plan for all men. He sent His son to SAVE and RESCUE man from the curse of sin (John 3:16, Galatians 3:13).
CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT GOD’S SECURITY AND JOY. Because of Christmas we should never fear of what will happen tomorrow for God will always be on our side (Psalm 27:1, Romans 8:31). Unless we internalize this message, we can never have true peace.
CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT CHRIST’S LOVE FOR MANKIND - Natagpuan ng mga pastol ang sanggol na si Jesus sa isang SABSABAN, kainan ng mga hayop. This is symbolic of Christ’s mission on earth—to offfer His life as a food for humanity. He is the bread of life (John 6:51) and the living water for the thirsty (John 4:13). We should be reminded of the truth that the real essence of Christmas is JESUS Himself.
”Christmas….. is not giving in of what you have. The important thing is how each of us celebrate the essence of it. If i could remember when i was still young, this is the days that i’ve waited of. Lots of food served in the table, carolling, and of course the presents that i used to received. Let us not forget that the true meaning of christmas is "LOVE", let us share our love to others in our own simple ways.
As what the song of Jose Mari Chan says, let us not forget to "give love on christmas day",specially the street children. Children needs love and shelter to survive. Christmas Season is the joyous time of the year to many, but for the children on the streets Christmas is like an ordinary day until one takes time to share. In a cold December night a festive Christmas spirit fills the air Christmas lights are above the trees but below is a child on bended knees.
Whenever I see girls and boys
selling lanterns on the streets
i remember the Child
in the manger as He sleeps
wherever there are people
giving gifts, exchanging cards
i believe that Christmas
is truly in their hearts
selling lanterns on the streets
i remember the Child
in the manger as He sleeps
wherever there are people
giving gifts, exchanging cards
i believe that Christmas
is truly in their hearts
[refrain]
Let’s light our Christmas trees
for a bright tomorrow
where nations are at peace
and all are one in God
Let’s light our Christmas trees
for a bright tomorrow
where nations are at peace
and all are one in God
[chorus]
Let’s sing Merry Christmas
and a happy holiday
this season, may we never forget
the love we have for Jesus
let Him be the One to guide us
as another new year starts
and may the spirit of Christmas
be always in our hearts
Let’s sing Merry Christmas
and a happy holiday
this season, may we never forget
the love we have for Jesus
let Him be the One to guide us
as another new year starts
and may the spirit of Christmas
be always in our hearts
In every prayer and every song
the community unites
celebrating the birth
of our Savior, Jesus Christ
the community unites
celebrating the birth
of our Savior, Jesus Christ
let love, like that starlight
on that first Christmas morn
lead us back to the manger
where Christ the Child was born
on that first Christmas morn
lead us back to the manger
where Christ the Child was born
So, come let us rejoice
come and sing a Christmas carol
with one big joyful voice
proclaim the name of the Lord!
come and sing a Christmas carol
with one big joyful voice
proclaim the name of the Lord!
[repeat chorus 2x]
Be always in our hearts
